I'm m not really into sheikhs, because they fall in the category of out of reach prince charming and the kind would probably never cross my path in this lifetime. But knowing how Zhang Yajun is, I must agree with the concept of leading man Ruth Cardello made for her. Sheâ(tm)s quite extra ordinary and a real prince is definitely what she deserved. Zhang is the only Asian woman in this series, which made me instantly connect with her, not because Iâ(tm)m Chinese but because she's the nearest woman in the series from my side of continent. Plus, I'veve grown to relate to her more since seeing the environment and culture she grew up in in the first book of the Legacy Collection. However, I must say that her advocacy to do more for her fellow country women is something that I really admire and I know not everyone can have the courage to do.But when it comes to this book of the series, I must certainly give my applause to Maddy and Lil the way the to of them manage to make Zhang do something she usually does not do. Those two are a heck of a lade and more so when they conspire with each other. That part of the novel was hilarious.
As Iâ(tm)ve said before, Iâ(tm)m not really into whirlwind romances and does not believe that love can happen at first sight. Despite that, I enjoyed reading this story. I looked at the love story between Zhang and Rachid just a bonus. Just seeing the whole gang again â" Dominic, Jake, Stephan and Jeremy â" was already worth the penny spent to buy this book. I loved how Dominic would come to Zhangâ(tm)s rescue because sheâ(tm)s a friend of Abbyâ(tm)s. And Jeremy, his geekiness is really growing in me in a nice way that make him hot and handsome despite the fashion sense, and of course, I so love his sense of humor. Abby and Lil once again touched me with the loyalty they have for their friend. Zhangâ(tm)s mom and her competitive was very entertaining too. Despite not being my kind of love story, reading this book was like watching a movie. One that I enjoyed every minute watching. Not to mention that the chaos and the thrill of the suspense parts where enough to have you holding on to every page.

Although this a book that I wanted to read for some time now, I was somewhat disappointed when I finally got a chance to read it. I did like both of the main characters but still ended up feeling like the story was somewhat shallow and at times predictable. There will be some hot scenes between Zhang and Rachid before they finally get their H.E.A.
I did like that Zhang observed that she had often to walk between 2 different cultures so what was one more? That walking between 2 different cultures was also something that Rachid was very familiar with. He often felt like an outsider even when he is in his own country

To top off her success story, she grew up in a poor farming village and made herself who she is. Of course, there were bumps & bruises along the way, but those will be in any path you travel. As a bridesmaid in Abby’s wedding, she gets to choose who her groomsman escort will be. And then she accepts the Lily’s dare to kiss him while at the wedding, something that is far out of the normal for her.
Crowned Prince Rachid met Dominic Corisi & Jake Walton while in college and not only were they teammates on the lacrosse team, but friends as well and eventually even had some business dealings with each other. But now Rachid is back in his home country, preparing to become the King, but is also having to protect his country’s borders and defend himself to the public, who view him as an outsider because of his many years spent away at boarding school and then college. The last thing that he needs right now is a distraction, especially one that is not only a woman, but a foreigner whom his people will probably not accept.
But one impulsive decision and night changes their lives forever. They don’t only have to worry about their own reputations to uphold, but also their business reputations and on an even bigger scale they have to be concerned with their countries’ reputations. They have to work together to find a desirable outcome that they both can live with, that everyone involved can also save face with.
I’m not really a fan of insta-love, or really insta-anything. But in this story, it actually worked. And it wasn’t over the top cutesy like a lot of the insta-love books are. This was by far my favorite book of the series (and I have read all of them.)
I truly like some of Ruth Cardello’s newer books, such as the Lone Star Burn series, so I picked up the books in the Legacy series while they were on sale. While I don’t feel that this series was as good as the Lone Star Burn series, it will not stop me from reading through Ruth Cardello’s other series, even the older ones.
So this next book in the Legacy series is a little more risque. More fantasy and straightforward sex romp than previously. But, the thing I like here is that it is set in cultural contexts that make the character have to be accountable for their actions. This is the "forced marriage" romance scenario, and it's set up in quite a way that makes you wonder what will happen next. For all that they are purely secondary characters in the other novels (and Zhang is definitely different here than I pictured her in "Maid for the Billionaire"), Cardello develops both very well, as well as the cast of characters around them. Zhang's mom is perfect...exactly how a Chinese mother would be. And Rachid sounds totally hot. Makes for some steamy scenes!
